Warhammer - Citadel Colour: Base Corvus Black 21-44
Base colours are developed for the first, opaque coat of paint on miniatures and offer a high pigment density as well as strong adhesion. Corvus Black is ideal for very dark, slightly lightened black tones and is particularly well suited for armour, fabrics, vehicles, weapons as well as grim or realistic colour schemes. Compared to pure black, Corvus Black appears slightly softer and allows for better further work with highlights.
Base paints can be applied evenly and ensure a clean, stable colour base on which edge highlights and shading can be shown to their best advantage. Corvus Black is excellently suited as a base colour for black surfaces that are intended to be lightened or detailed further later on, without appearing too harsh.
For optimal results, it is recommended to thin the paint slightly and apply it in one to two even coats. This creates a smooth, opaque base without losing fine details.
